SoCal WebWorx Principals
Jeff Weissberg
Jeff Weissberg approaches website development from both the marketing communications and the visual design standpoints. While many web people are really “techies” who rely on templates to pull off the design end of things, Jeff is a trained artist (he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Art Education) with 25 years of experience in the marketing and graphics fields.
Prior to teaming up with Doug Robertson to form SoCal WebWorx, Jeff ran a virtual ad agency that had a very successful 12-year run. In addition to branding, positioning, and other marketing work, Jeff’s agency created a wide range of collateral pieces and print ads for a clientele that was heavily focused on the financial and medical sectors. Before that Jeff spent 13 years honing his account management and business operations skills through working at RR Donnelley and Sons (the nation’s largest printing company), an educational products trade association, and a local printing and graphics company.
Doug Robertson
Doug Robertson’s passion for art became apparent after his 10th birthday, when his grandparents presented him with his first 35mm camera. Since then Doug has become an award-winning photographer and has parlayed his interests in art and technology into a successful career in graphic design and website development. Doug approaches website development from both the technical and the design standpoints, always thinking about what will need to be done on the backend to make the front-end creative ideas work.
Doug’s 23 years in the graphics and website design fields has included everything from successfully owning and running his own graphic design agency to serving as General Manager and Pre-Press Supervisor at a busy printing company. Doug’s early exposure to computer programming led to his interest in the technical side of website development. As a result, Doug entered the website development field 15 years ago, when it was still in its infancy. Since then he has developed over 100 sites, spanning the range from simple 5-pagers to multi-page e-commerce sites and complex sites with customized full content management.
Team Members
After seeing many of their clients make the very expensive mistake of taking a “do-it-yourself” approach to website writing, Jeff and Doug brought Linda Coss, a professional copywriter, on board SoCal WebWorx’ “virtual” team.
Linda Coss is a freelance marketing writer who specializes in writing targeted and effective words that appeal to the readers’ needs and emotions to engage and sell. Her 15 years in the marketing field include writing and editing everything from websites and newsletters to e-blasts, brochures, articles, books, and much more. Having worked on both the corporate and agency sides of the marketing business in advertising, direct mail, branding, product management, market research, and publishing, Linda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to every job.
